29 months

Mr. Noah, you are just growing up way too fast. Each month you get a little big bigger and a little big older. *Sigh* Will you stop it already?

Photobucket

Some of your favorite phrases/words lately are: "That's okay." "Get out of the way!" {a line from Toy Story}, "See ya!" "Let's go." "Let's go, Daddy!" "Woody" and "Buh" for Buzz. It's such a joy to hear that sweet little voice of yours! Some new signs you've learned lately are: "monkey" "blanket" "donut" "open" "boy" "girl" "flag" and many others I'm not thinking of right now.

Your favorite movies right now are Toy Story {all three of them!} and Despicable Me.

You love to sleep in bed with Mommy and Daddy. We were adamant from the beginning you would sleep in your own bed, but somehow you managed to wiggle your way in. But I have to admit, I sure do love having you to snuggle with when your Daddy is working the night shift.

You love the Woody and Buzz Lightyear action figures your grandparents got you for Christmas. They sleep with you every night and go almost everywhere you go. Tonight, you insisted they sit with you in your highchair while you ate dinner. Funny guy!

You have used your little potty twice! Yay Noah! We are so proud of you. Maybe, just maybe, you will be potty trained by the time you turn three?? If not, that's okay. We will just keep on practicing until you get it.

You love to point to your {and everyone else's, including Einstein's} nose, eyes, ears, belly button, and toes {a.k.a your piggies} and practice saying each of them.

I have to say, you are quite a challenge these days. Hellooo Terrible Two's. I thought caring for you when you were a baby was a challenge. Ha. That was nothin'! Learning to be consistent with you and follow through with discipline has been one of the hardest things I've had to learn to do as a parent. I am definitely learning patience!

I think if we let you, you'd run around naked all the time. You throw a fit when you have to put clothes on, and it hasn't taken you long to figure out how to take them off again {especially your shirt and socks!}. Most nights, you go to bed with just a diaper on. That is a battle I just don't want to fight at the end of the day.

You have become quite the picky eater lately. But one thing you will never turn down is a hamburger. Definitely one of your favorite foods! Some other foods you like right now are mandarin oranges, bagels, chips and queso, Special K cereal, cubes of cheese, ham, spaghetti and meatballs, bananas, and powdered donuts.

One thing I just love is how you sign "cow" for every four legged animal you see. I don't know how many times I've told you Einstein is not a cow. Cracks me up every time.

I love you to infinity and beyond!

Silence = Noah + Mischievousness

Noah is a very active and vocal little guy {what toddler isn't}, so when Noah is being really quiet, he is usually up to something. Today while I was {wait, what was I doing?}, I suddenly realized there was silence in the house. So, I decided to check on my little munchkin to see what he was up to.

You see this little ornament storage box...

Photobucket

... well, it was not next to Noah's high chair.

But when I walked into the living room, this is what I saw:

Photobucket

What did I tell ya? I knew he was up to something.
Noah pulled the ornament box to his highchair
and proceeded to do this:

Photobucket

But seriously, how cute is that?
I guess little Noah was a hungry boy, so
he decided to take matters into his own
hands and get himself a snack.

And then look at the sweet little smile
he gave me after he got caught.

Photobucket

Oh, I just love this little boy!

Winter Wonderland & 500 Miles

Well, not quite. But this week we have had some really cold weather, and it actually snowed {a little bit} yesterday! Yes siree. Early Wednesday morning while I was making Noah breakfast, I looked out the window, and to my surprise I saw snow falling. I thought I remember someone telling me it never snowed in Fort Worth. Um. Guess that's not true. It was such a beautiful, peaceful snow fall. Of course, a couple hours later I would have never been able to prove we had any snow because it didn't stick to the ground, but what a nice little winter surprise to enjoy, even if it was only for a couple hours.

Can you believe it? And, I hear we are supposed to get some more snow tomorrow!

-------------------------

I'm sure you have all heard of the song "I'm Gonna Be {500 miles}" by the Proclaimers, right? Well... little Noah is walking all. over. the. place. Oh, and did I mention he is getting into everything! I seriously think those little legs walk at least 500 miles a day. Noah has been walking for the past month, but he would go back and forth between walking and crawling. Not anymore. He is walking at least 95% of the time now, and has gotten to the point where he is comfortable on his feet, so once he gets going, he is moving... fast! And boy is it cute!

I'm really gonna have to keep a close eye on him now!

Walk Tall

I just took black beauty, oh I mean Einstein {that's one of his many nicknames}, out to go potty, and wow it is cold outside!! Brrrr! It is really starting to feel a bit like winter now. Goodness gracious. What a nice change from June, July, and August 100+ degree weather. I think I kinda like it. I'll take it over the scorching heat any day.

Anyway, do any of you feel like you can never get your house in order or even clean for that matter? I do. When we moved I had good intentions. I mean, it was a fresh start. I had a clean slate to organize and have some kind of order in our home. Well... that didn't exactly happen. You should see our closet. Total disaster. It looks like a tornado swept through. I seriously, well kind of, want to move again so I can try again. But that's probably not gonna happen for a while, so I seriously need to get in deep clean mode and get this house in order.

Well tonight was not the night. I did not have an ounce of motivation to deep clean. My closet and a few other places in the house remain in filth {I'm spilling my dirty secrets here}, but hey at least my kitchen and living room are in perfect order. Did I seriously just ramble on about cleaning the house for two paragraphs? I'll stop now. But does anyone feel that way? Or is it just me?

In the midst of my surface cleaning tonight, I noticed something. I had been vacuuming the living room for a few minutes, and suddenly I realized Noah was walking! I mean really walking! Not just walking from one object to another, but walking all over the house. How did that happen? I couldn't believe my eyes. My big boy was walking tall, and doing so confidently. Wow. And of course, being his mommy and a little biased, I think he is the cutest walking baby alive. And you know by now my video camera was near by to capture these steps of confidence. What a proud mommy I am tonight.

Look at him go! How sweet. I'm loving the saggy diaper. Haha.

I have loved reading all of the "thankful" comments coming in for the Giveaway post. If you don't know about the Giveaway, you need to know, because I am giving away some fun goodies. So, click here if you want to read about it. I want everyone to comment {yes family, you are included} so join in and tell me what you are thankful for. Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

I've got the Biggest Loser to watch tonight, so I've got to go! It's gonna be good.

Good night!

Dear Noah,

My sweet Noah, how do 14 1/2 months pass by so quickly? How do you grow and change so fast? The other day as I sat and watched you play, the realization of how quickly you are growing hit me like a ton of bricks. It is so exciting and such a blessing to see you grow, learn, and discover, but at the same time it's kinda sad. I don't want you to grow up too fast. I'm so thankful for you--thankful for the moments, the laughs, the snuggles, the kisses--thankful for every moment we have together.

And so tonight I would like to share some of the things you are doing right now, so one day we can look back and remember you at this sweet, precious age.

1. You love blueberries. I think in the past month I've bought 3 bags of blueberries, and you are finishing up bag number 3.

2. You are looking more and more like your handsome daddy everyday.

3. You are starting to chuckle and it is the cutest thing I've ever heard. It makes your Mommy and Daddy laugh every single time.

4. Mr. Noah, you are still very determined to get into Einstein's water bowl because you love to splash his water all over the kitchen floor.

5. You have 7 teeth already!

6. You have become very interested in the trash can the past couple of days. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

7. You have started to clap your hands together, and it is so very sweet!

8. Noah, Noah, Noah, you will only eat bananas if Mommy hides them in your peanut butter sandwich; otherwise, you leave every single banana untouched on your highchair table.

9. You enjoy very much pouring large amounts of water outside the bathtub. Einstein thanks you though.

10. You are starting to sign a couple of words, and when you do Mommy gets very excited about it and starts clapping and jumping up and down.

11. You laugh at yourself every time you sneeze, and it's so funny when you do that.

12. You have started this new break dance move every time your Daddy gets home from work, and it is hilarious! Let's show off some of your dance moves, shall we?

13. You love to hide things... especially balls. The other day I was getting a cooking pot out, and what do I see? Your big blue ball hidden away with all the pots and pans. But the best example I have is when I opened the fridge and found one of your mini basketballs sitting there. Who knows when you put it there and how long it had been chilling in there. You are a sneaky little guy.

14. And last, but not least, you are starting to climb on just about everything. I walked out of the kitchen for a minute, and when I came back I found you right here {the dishwasher door was closed when I left too}:

You are the best, and we love you so much!

My Horrible, Rotten, Mean Husband!

My heart is racing, and my hands are still shaking as I sit here and write what happened to me not long ago. I have never been so scared in my life.

My husband is horrible, rotten, and mean! Let me tell you why.

Josh had to work tonight, so after saying our goodbyes, I decided it was time to get Noah ready for bed. I gave Noah a quick scrub down in the bath, dried him off, put his pj's on, skipped brushing his teeth {shame on me}, kissed his sweet little head, and put him in his crib to go night-night. Noah typically goes to sleep anywhere from 8-9 pm, but tonight was different. He only had two short naps today, so he was a tired little guy. He didn't make one peep after I laid him down. So sweet.

After putting Noah to bed, I decided I'd better get busy cleaning the house. There were clothes to be hung, dishes to be cleaned, and toys scattered throughout the house to be picked up. But after looking at all that needed to be done, I decided the house work could wait and that instead I would get on the computer.

I sat down at the computer, pulled up my facebook and gmail, and then all of a sudden I was bombarded with a screen that said we had 10 viruses!! The screen listed out all of the viruses with some of them labeled as critical {whatever that means}. Great, that's not good. So I followed the instructions of the anti-virus program on our computer to hopefully get rid of the viruses, but for some reason the program was being stubborn and not doing what it should {yes, I'm blaming it on the anti-virus program}.

Did I mention my husband is horrible, rotten, and mean!

Anyway, I sent Josh a text message on his phone and told him we had some serious virus problems on our computer. He told me to get on gmail so we could chat. We were chatting back and forth, and I told him what I saw on the computer screen, blah blah blah, and he said he would check it out and fix it when he got home.

So I didn't think much else of it, and started reading about ways to Go Green. I have been wanting to read up on it lately and educate myself on how-to's of it all, but I keep forgetting. I browsed around a little bit and found a website with some good tips, so I opened up a compose document in my gmail and started listing what I found. All of a sudden...

...my typing was being controlled by someone else. Oh my gosh! I thought of the viruses on our computer that had popped up earlier. Did someone hack into our computer? Was someone watching everything I was doing?

I immediately started to type to Josh in our chat box because I was freaked out at that point, and then the person took over my typing, and wrote "Do not contact your husband." My heart leaped out of my chest. My whole body was shaking. Can the person see me? How did he/she know I had a husband? As soon as that crossed my mind the person wrote, "I am watching you." At that point I quit writing Josh on the computer, grabbed my phone, and sent Josh a text telling him he had to come home right now! I then realized neither one of us had locked the door after Josh had left {and I will never, ever do that again!}, so I immediately locked both dead bolts, closed all the blinds, checked the whole house, and then walked back over to the computer.

I see three words on the screen, "Do not move."

Well, I moved. I moved as fast as I could to shut the computer off immediately!

I could barely hold my phone because my hands were shaking so much, but somehow I managed to dial my mom's number and call her. We talked for a few minutes, and she told me to call Josh. Yeah good idea!

My heart was racing as I dialed his number. No answer. I dialed again, and still no answer. I dialed his number a third time before he finally he answered.

"Josh, you have to come home right now! I'm not kidding, I'm scared to death!!!"

"Why, what's wrong?"

"Josh, someone has hacked in our computer, and they say they are watching me, not to contact you, etc. Please come home right now! I'm so scared." I'm bawling at this point.

"Lib, calm down. It was me the whole time."

I don't even remember what I said after that. I just remember feeling a flood of relief and anger all at the same time.

And that my friends is why my husband is horrible, rotten, and mean!

I still can not believe he did that to me. I am still terrified to even take Einstein outside to go potty. I admit sometimes I am naive, but with the whole virus thing on our computer tonight, it seemed very believable. It felt like I was in the middle of a horror movie!

So if you would like to send my husband some hate mail I'll be glad to give you his email if you don't have it already.

Oh and by the way, if you haven't read the previous post, click here, because Noah is finally... {I'm not gonna tell you... you have to read it for yourself}.

I'm gonna go now and try to relax enough so my heart can beat back into normal sinus rhythm.

Goodnight!

Officially a Toddler!

Mr. Noah is officially a toddler now, because he is WALKING!

Just this past week he really took off! And I tell you, it is the sweetest, cutest, most precious thing ever. He stills crawls if he wants to get somewhere really fast, but he has been practicing his walking everyday and is becoming more and more proficient at it. Yay Noah! Mommy, Daddy, and Einstein are so proud of you. Here is the little guy in action! {Please excuse the mess in the background}

And Noah thanks his Granddad and Mimi for buying him some Prewalker shoes that are comfortable to walk in. They are so cute!

Noah you make your Mommy very proud!

Goodnight all!

Apple Sauce & A Spoon

Do we have some news for you! Guess what Mr. Noah is learning to do? I'm happy (and sad) to announce Noah is learning to feed himself with a spoon. I love this video of him; it's so sweet! Watch.

Can you believe it? I sure can't! One morning while Noah was eating breakfast, I decided to give him some apple sauce with a spoon to see what he would do with it. To my surprise he picked up the spoon and started feeding himself! I guess I was taken back because this was our first time to practice. Way to go Noah! I'm thinking feeding time is going to get a little bit more messy now, but practice makes perfect, right? I'm so proud of you Noah. You are growing by leaps and bounds. Will you slow down a little bit for Mommy?

Oh and a little update on walking. This past Sunday guess how many steps Noah took?! Like 4 or 5! I lost count because I was so excited he kept walking without plopping down on his bottom. He is getting so much closer every day. Maybe we will have a walking Mickey Mouse at the end of this month? We shall see.

Have a wonderful day!

My Little Cookie Monster

This morning Noah and I got up early. Against all my efforts, this has become our normal routine. Like I've mentioned before I am just not a morning person, and probably never will be. But, I am adjusting, and once I'm up I just love the time Noah and I spend together. This morning while Noah was eating breakfast I decided to pull out my cookie dough and get to work on my practice batch of cookies I'm making for the Fall Festival. I planned on making them a couple of nights ago, but my dough was sticky and unmanageable, so I just decided to wait.

I pulled my dough out of the fridge; it was solid, and from the looks of it, it was ready to be cut with the cookie cutter. I got two cookies cut, and the dough was already sticky and literally impossible to work with. Did I do something wrong? I went through the list of ingredients and measurements one by one in my head, and everything was there. Hmmm. I'm sure glad I decided to practice beforehand, because I would have been one very frustrated girl with nothing but a wad of sticky dough. But since I managed to get two cookies cut, I decided to go ahead and bake and decorate them to practice. Needless to say, when I practiced again this evening, I ended up going with another recipe for the cookies, and it turned out much better. The cookies I made certainly aren't as cute as the little bats in the picture I found, but I thought they turned out pretty cute. Here they are:

Photobucket

Photobucket

I even had a little taste tester to tell me whether they were good or not.

Photobucket

I guess Noah liked it because he was stuffing the whole thing in his mouth. I decided it would be better if he ate the cookie in a few small pieces rather than in one big bite, so I took the cookie away from him, and, Oh. My. Gosh. That was a mistake. He was MAD.

Photobucket

Photobucket

But his frown quickly turned around after I broke the cookie up in a few pieces for him to eat (and no, I didn't give him the whole cookie).

Photobucket

Photobucket

Guess what else Noah did today?! He took two steps on his very own! We have been practicing a lot lately, and I've noticed each day he is becoming much more confident in his ability to stand without support and take those first few steps. It is so exciting and absolutely the most precious thing I've ever seen.

Have you figured out what Noah is going to be for Halloween? You will find out tomorrow! Have a wonderful day!

I Love the Moments

I love...

... the moments when just my presence in Noah's room with a hug around his little body calms his fears when he is crying at night.

... the moments when Noah crawls to me wanting to sit in my lap and we snuggle together for as long as he will let me.

... the moments when Noah comes crawling as fast as he can when he hears me put Einstein's leash on so he can go outside with us.

... the moments when the wind blows in Noah's face and he starts laughing with a huge smile across his face.

... the moments when he crawls in Einstein's (filthy) bed without hesitation to wake Einstein up.

... the moments when he stuffs too many apples or prunes in his mouth because he loves the way they taste, and he looks like a little chipmunk.

... the moments when he pretends to be gagging just to get our attention (he knows it will work every time!)

... the moments when I arrive home after being gone for a while and Noah crawls over to me as fast as he can to meet me.

... the moments when I'm reading to him from his story Bible before bedtime, even though he loses interest as I hold the book in the air as I read to prevent him from tearing out the pages.

... the moments when he puts up a fight to prevent me from brushing his teeth or changing his diaper.

... the moments when I tell him to say, "Mama" and he proceeds to say "Dada" instead.

... the moments when he tries to put his finger in Einstein's nostrils out of curiosity.

... the moments when we put Noah down for a nap and he lies there and talks to himself for 30-45 minutes before he actually falls asleep.

... the moments when he throws every single toy he has out of the bathtub just so he can watch them drop to the ground.

... the moments when I go in his room and find his bottle on the ground after he chunked it over his crib when he was finished with it.

... the moments when he discovers new places to hide such as the dryer or the kitchen cabinets.

... the moments when I go to pick him up after my women's Bible study and I find him conked out in a swing.

... the moments when he thinks it is so funny to push Josh's face away when Josh gets real close to him. That's their little game they play. It's so funny.

... the moments when I lay him down for a nap and he doesn't protest. He just grabs his blankie and lies there calmly until he falls asleep.

... the moments when I look over at Noah while I'm feeding Josh something and Noah has his mouth open like a little birdie wanting to taste whatever Daddy is eating.

... the moments when I am sleeping and Josh brings Noah in to wake me up; Noah is always so excited to wake me up.

... the moments when I tell him to give Mommy a kiss, and he just smiles and leans forward a little bit to let me kiss his sweet face.

... the moments when Noah stuffs down Daddy's "unhealthy" breakfasts like he hasn't eaten for weeks.

... the moments when he throws the ball for Einstein to go catch it.

... the moments when Noah stares at one of us when we are eating (including Einstein) and he starts making a chewing/smacking noise with his mouth.

I don't think I could even come close to listing out all the moments I love about Noah. I can't imagine our lives without him. He brings so much joy, excitement, laughter into our lives, and I praise God for the precious child He has entrusted us with. We are truly blessed.

I Can't Think of a Good Title...

...But I do have a good post for you. It's just a little too random to fit under one title.

I was on a roll. For the first few days of this month I posted everyday, but I'm not sure what happened the past three days. I was bragging to Josh the other day telling him I was doing good keeping the blog updated. Psh. I guess I spoke too quickly.

Well... I guess I kind of have an excuse for my absence. I posted a picture of my first diaper cake on Facebook, and not too long after that I got a message from a friend asking me if I could make one for her great nephew. Um, yeah of course I would! I was so excited to have the opportunity to create another one, especially one for a little boy this time.

I have found a new hobby: making diaper cakes! I can't get enough of it! When I am finished with one I'm ready to get started on another. I love decorating and seeing the diaper cake come together. Now every time I'm out somewhere and see something cute I catch myself thinking, "Oh that would be perfect on a diaper cake." Somehow I refrain from spending money, but it's not easy!

Of course you know I can't just go on and on about it without some pictures, right?
Get the flash player here: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer

Ah! I just love that little monkey. Isn't it the cutest?

----------

Speaking of monkeys, I have a little monkey of my own around here. A little monkey that is mischievous and silly! Earlier today I told Josh, "Noah is too quiet. He must be up to no good." And sure enough, look where I found Noah hiding today.

I caught you! His sweet smile sure does make up for his orneriness. He is so funny. I actually couldn't believe he crawled in there all by himself. What a independent little guy.

Guess what else Mr. Noah did today? He took his first step! And both Mommy and Daddy got to see him do it. Yay Noah! I'm thinking it isn't going to be long before he is chasing Einstein around the house. It will be good for Einstein though; he could stand to loose a few pounds.

-----------

Josh was on the computer this afternoon and he yelled at me to come see something. So I walked over to the computer and squealed (no pun intended--you'll see) with giddiness as I laid my eyes on this:

I know one thing for sure: my sister, Megan, is squealing over these "teacup pigs" too. Megan and I love anything that is "teacup." Teacup pugs, pigs; you name it, we like it. Are they not the cutest little piggies you've ever laid your eyes on? I can just imagine Noah swinging that little pig by his curly tail, so for the sake of the pig we better not get one. That, and the fact that they cost a whopping $1,100 each. If you want to read more about them, click here. The article is actually pretty interesting. Apparently they are pretty good pets, but with swine flu going around I'm sure there won't be too many purchased. Haha.

One last thing before I go: would you please lift my grandmother, Gigi, up in prayer. The day before yesterday she fell down a steep flight of stairs, and thankfully has no broken bones or internal injuries, but she is very very sore as you can imagine. Thank you so much!

Have a wonderful night!

Project Big Boy: Success

Wow, it is October 1st already! How did September come and go so quickly? Well I just love the Fall weather; it is the best! We took a family walk together last night, which is something we haven't done in a long long time because of the hot weather. The weather last night felt like good ol' Amarillo evenings which are always so nice and cool. I'm guessing we probably won't see much snow around these parts though. I'll just be thankful for what we have!

I just got back not long ago from grocery shopping, so this will just be a quick post. Noah and I have to get up early (this morning) for Bible study. I have just been absolutely loving every minute of the studying of the Psalms and being a part of a women's Bible study. I have grown so much, and I am so thankful for this wonderful opportunity.

Noah has also been enjoying his Wee Care group. Last week the nursery workers said he did so much better. I knew after a few times of going he would be ok. During a break I decided to go peek my head in to see how he was doing, and Noah was just as happy as could be sitting in a highchair eating his snacks along with another friend in the nursery. After we were finished I went in to pick him up and he was snoozing in a swing with a blanket on him. It was the cutest thing. He would have never sat long enough in a swing to fall asleep at home. I guess the distraction of the other babies playing kept him preoccupied long enough to fall asleep.

The only thing I have been a little anxious about is Noah being around a bunch of other kids with all of the yucky stuff going around right now. We are still in the process of getting our insurance and pediatrician all lined up, so I am just praying for good health! Would you please pray for Noah (well all of us) for God's protection as we enter the flu season.

Before I go, remember the post Noah is...? And remember how I told you he wasn't a fan of juices? Well I was wrong. He loves apple juice, orange juice, and milk (hey, it's cow juice!). When we give him any of those in his sippy cup, he chugs it like you wouldn't believe. I guess sometimes kids have to try things out a couple times before they figure out whether they actually like something or not. Here's a picture of Noah and his apple juice:

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

P.S. Oh, how could I forget! Ha. The main reason I wrote a post tonight was to let you know that Project Big Boy has been successful! He's not crying for his bottle any more, and, as I wrote above, he's taking all kinds of liquids from his sippy cup. Yay! I think it is safe to say we have weaned Noah from the bottle. Boy does it feel good. Again, I thank you so much for your prayers and support. It definitely wasn't as hard as we thought it was going to be.

Libby & Julia

Have you seen the movie Julie & Julia? Someday I will get around to seeing it. I reeeeaaallly wanna see it. The reason I bring the movie up is because in a way I kinda feel like the girl in the movie. Well, to some extent I do. The young girl, Julie, in the movie makes it her goal to cook her way through Julia Child's cook book. I have recently made it my goal to: 1. cook more and 2. to find and try out new recipes. The main reason I'm expanding my recipe collection and cooking more often is for the benefit of my family, but personally I have actually enjoyed being in the kitchen lately. I'm certainly no Betty Crocker, and the recipes I've cooked lately have been pretty simple, but with a one-year old crawling all over the place I don't have time to spend hours upon hours in the kitchen.

Last week when I was planning my menu for the week, I spotted a new recipe on kraftfoods.com that I wasn't quite sure of, but I thought I would venture out and try it. If you need something quick and very tasty you need to try this:

Cheesy Chicken Tostadas

Photobucket

You'll need:

6 tostada shells
1/2 cup Philadelphia Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
3/4 lb. cooked chicken, shredded*
6 Kraft Singles
1 avocado, sliced
1-1/2 cups shredded lettuce
1 medium tomato, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spread tostada shells evenly with cream cheese spread;
place on baking sheet. Fill evenly with chicken and Singles.
Bake 5 to 7 minutes or until heated through.
Top with the avocados, lettuce, and tomatoes.

** I put the chicken in a slow cooker with chicken broth and let it cook
all day. It is so moist and easy to shred by dinnertime.

That is it!

Josh really liked them (I could tell he wasn't lying), and Noah, well, he didn't exactly eat them, but I think he really enjoyed the chicken and avocados.

Project Big Boy UPDATE: Noah has been doing so well. We had another really good day. For both his nap and bedtime he fell asleep within 15 minutes. It is getting easier by the day. The days of "Ba-ba" are gone. Kinda makes me sad.

If you have any yummy recipes to share send them my way!

Hope you are having a great night!

2:00 am update: Ok, I was about to go to bed, but I just had to add this to the blog before I went to sleep. As I always do before I go to bed, I went in Noah's room to check on him. This is what I found:

Most of the time when I check on him, Noah has his blankets flung every which way, but not tonight. Tonight I went in to find little Noah comfortably tucked in with a blanket. Turns out Josh had been to visit Noah a few minutes before I went in. How precious is that? What a wonderful daddy!

Project Big Boy: Day 3 & Walking Like a Senior Citizen

I think I would be safe to say Project Big Boy has been successful so far. I say so far because I don't think we are there yet. Noah has been doing so well with the weaning process. We didn't hear one peep from him last night; he slept straight through. It was difficult getting up with him at 7:30 am, but it's okay. I loved waking up with my little guy and spending some good quality time with him. We ate breakfast together, shot some hoops with his little basketball goal (thanks Nana & Roger!), read a couple of books, and watched a Baby Einstein. By that time, it was time for a nap and Noah went right to sleep without any problem--he was asleep within five minutes. Everything has gone so smoothly, well, until tonight. Noah cried for about 30 minutes before he went to sleep. It is so hard to listen to him cry and not be able to do anything to soothe him. But we have come a long way, and I honestly believe we are getting closer and closer to having him weaned. Thank you again for your prayers. We really appreciate them so much.

Noah got a walker for his birthday from his great-grandmother, Gigi, and boy does he love it. If only he had more room to walk around with it I think he would use it all the time. And when he uses it to walk around, it is the. cutest. thing. ever.

About a month before Noah's birthday, I was talking on the phone with Gigi, and before we got off, Gigi asked me what she could get Noah for his birthday. I immediately thought of a walker. She asked me to send her an email of one, so I did a little searching and sent her a link to a walker I found on the Babies R Us website. And it was so funny because before we got off the phone, Gigi said to me, "Now, don't you let anyone else get this for him." It was sweet because she was so excited to get the walker for him.

Anyway, I wanted to post a picture and video of Noah and his walker. I think I could watch this video hundreds of times and never get tired of it.

Ah! Love it. Off to catch up on Survivor with Josh. Goodnight!
