Project#1

So I just have to say, I am lovin' Home Ec!
How about you? Have you started yet?

I finished my first project {finally!} this past
week while visiting my momma in Oklahoma:

What do you think?
Not too bad for my very first sewing experience, huh?

The pin cushion was a little tedious,
{not sure I'd want to make another one}, but
seeing it all come together in the end was fun.
And now I can say I know how to make a pin cushion!

Mom, thank you for taking the time to teach
me the ins and outs of my new sewing machine
and for helping me pick out all of my sewing supplies.
I would probably still be trying to figure out how to
thread a bobbin if I were here trying to figure
out all of this stuff by myself.
I loved every minute of our time together! Muah!

I am so excited to get started on my next project!
Here's a little sneak peak of the fabrics I picked out for it:

In fact, I think I might get off this
computer right now and get started on it!

Hope you all are having a great weekend so far!

Hey Classmate!
I love your pincushion - great job! It must feel great to finally get that first project out of the way.

The fabrics in your sneak peek are fabulous! I can't wait to see what you make with them.

Thanks for checking out my blog...I've added yours to my blog roll, too! See you in class, emily

Oh, your first project is beautiful, Libby! Love that bling on it, too. Oh, I'm glad your mom could help you with the ins and outs. The little bit of very basic sewing (tote bag, gift bags) I have done in the past couple of years, I have done while visiting my parents so that my mother can help me! I love that you gave us a sneak peek at the fabrics of your next project. I just love those fabrics. Can't wait to see what you make!

I'm inspired! I bought a machine last year but between 70 hour work weeks and having a baby, I didn't accomplish much with it! :) You are really making me think about getting it out again. It's fun! I love seeing your project and I love the fabric. I could spend WAY to much money on fabric. Anyway...thanks for the inspiration!

So cute! I could use a new pin cushion. Maybe I'll do that project next. I've completed two so far, but I don't know how much time I'll have to do any more in the next three weeks. Happy sewing!

This seems like a stupid question, but can you think me to that project? I've looked through all the ones posted and I CANNOT find it for the life of me!

Your pincushion is so stylish! Like a little "diva-sewer's" pincushion. :) Great job!
