Monster Madness

There are so many fun Halloween ideas
floating around the blog world lately.

I thought I would contribute to all the fun and
share with you a little Halloween do-it-yourself.
{Except I'm being lazy and giving you recipe cards
instead of doing a step-by-step tutorial.}

The other day I was reading Taste of Home,
{one of my favs} and saw an idea for monster cupcakes.

Totally inspired, I thought I'd try my hand
at it and here is the result:

Meet

Green Eyed Monster

Photobucket

Orange You Spiky

Photobucket

Purple People Eater

Photobucket

Wouldn't these three be perfect for
a Halloween party?!

Photobucket

I am planning on making them again
for our Fall Festival coming up in October.
Except I might have to leave out Mr. Purple People Eater.
His tongue was a pain in the rear end, to put it nicely.
But, definitely a lot of fun to make.

And my kitchen, whoa, it looked like Willy Wonka's
Chocolate Factory after I was finished making these guys.

And the best part...

Noah loved these kooky creatures.
He took a few bites, but his favorite part was taking them
a part and playing with them. Of course. Haha.

It was entertaining to say the least!

And guess what I made for you?
Recipe cards!

So now you can make yourself, um..I mean your kids,
these monsters for some Halloween fun!

Enjoy!

Free to a Loving Home

Einstein here. I'm putting myself up for adoption, and I thought this might be the best way to get the word out.

Three-and-a-half-year-old champion bloodline Pug free to a loving home. I am house broken, well mannered, and low maintenance.

Photobucket

Adopting family must not have any young children who will use me as a bean bag, landing pad, or any other form of pre-kindergarten entertainment. In fact, an ideal adoption candidate would not have any children at all; I am at my best when I am the center of attention.

Additionally, the adopting family must be willing to accommodate my daily exercise regimen, namely, a half-block's walk at a leisurely pace in which I will have free reign on the leash and will be able to stop and sniff, eat, or relieve myself on anything (or anyone) I choose. Interested families with even the slightest predisposition to taking me on a Bataan Death March of a walk--lasting longer than a half-block, walking in temperatures above 73 degrees, or jerking the leash like it's a thirteen-year-old lawn mower--need not apply.

Photobucket

I have a pleasant, easy-going temperament, and you will find me easy to love. My current owners complain about my tendency to shed, but they fail to realize how fluffy the carpet is when I've shed all over it. My current owners may also spread venomous lies regarding my snoring and various noises I produce. I've never heard myself snore, so I have no idea what they're talking about.

Any potential candidate should be ready to accommodate my strict diet, which consists of only the choicest cuts of beef, dark meat poultry, and slow roasted pork. Oh, what the heck, I'll take white meat poultry too. And Spaghettios. And...well, my diet may not be as strict as it may seem. Just know this, the words dry and dog food do not find themselves anywhere in that diet.

Photobucket

Interested families that meet all of the above criteria are welcome to come and take me immediately. As my current owners spend all their attention and energies on The Golden Child, it will probably take them a few months to notice that I am not around. Come to our apartment in an unmarked limo and leave a trail of Swedish meatballs to the vehicle. I'll find you.

Thank you for your interest. I've lived a cold, harsh life, especially in the past 2 years, but with your help I'll be able to salvage what's left of it.

Happy 25 Months!

Another month has quickly flown by, and today, Noah, you are 25 months! You really are growing up so fast.

Here are some of the things you have been up to lately:

1. You are in a size 5 diaper still, but it isn't going to be long before we switch to 6.

2. You are wearing size 2T now in clothing and a size 7 shoes. Before long, we are going to have to do a little shopping for some Winter clothes. You have nothing warm that fits you.

3. You weight 27 lbs and are 32 inches tall. You definitely have the short Bonjour genes-- you are in the 10th percentile in height. Love those short little legs!

4. You still love Veggie Tales, but right now, you are totally into Toy Story. It is so cute. Your eyes are glued to the tv when it's on.

5. You love going on walks. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy the big world around you. And you get really {realllly} mad when we are walking back home because you know our walk is over.

6. You are still a very, very picky eater. Turning your head away from the food while saying "No!" is quite the norm around here.

7. Last weekend you wore a tux for the very first time, and you looked absolutely adorable! You were the ring bearer in your Aunt Abby's wedding, and you did a great job walking down the aisle with Mommy {of course, the candy I shoved in your mouth right before we walked down didn't hurt}.

8. You LOVE to dance, and you are so cute when you do it. You come up with some pretty funny moves.

9. You are going to Mother's Day Out on Monday and Wednesday every week and have been enjoying it. You still cry when I drop you off, but your teachers tell me every week you're a happy boy while I'm away. It was hard for Mommy to leave you at first, but I know it is a good thing for the both of us.

10. You have figured out how to turn the knob on your bedroom door. Nap time has become quite interesting in the past couple of weeks.

11. Your bedtime is usually between 7:00 and 7:30 pm, and lately, you've been waking up at the crack of dawn {around 6:30} every morning.

12. You definitely have "Momma" and "Dadda" down verbally. It is soooo sweet! And you have recently added "Nana" to your vocabulary. Your grand-Nana will be so happy to hear it! I will have to post a video soon. You have also said, "blue" "shoe" and "four." We are so proud of you!

13. You have only done this once, but the other day we were practicing numbers, and you were able to say, "one" "two" "three" "four" and "six."

14. And signing, wow, I've lost track. We practice a lot and you keep learning new signs every day. Some new signs you've learned are, "coin" "blue" "be patient" "movie" "sucker" "pancake" "orange" "train" and many more I'm not thinking of right now.

15. We've noticed over the past couple of months, you are a very organized little boy. You like order--everything has its place.

16. You are a little froggy; you love to jump. On another note, I'm sure our downstairs neighbors are probably about to pull their hair out.

17. Shopping is a little bit more difficult with you right now. You no longer want to sit in the cart...you want to push it.

18. You are the sweetest little boy in the whole world and your Mommy and Daddy are totally in love with you!

Happy 25 months sweet boy!

Photobucket

p.s. Wish I could have posted some pictures, but I'm having issues with my computer tonight and can't seem to get any of them off my memory card. :(

49 cents well spent

The other day while I was in Walmart doing my weekly
grocery shopping, I spotted sidewalk chalk on a sale table.

It was definitely 49 cents well spent! Noah {and I!}
had so much fun playing with chalk this morning.

Photobucket

Noah had never played with sidewalk chalk before,
so it was a fun new experience for him.

He colored... a little bit.

Photobucket

But, really, he wasn't very interested
in actually drawing with the chalk.

Photobucket

No, he just wanted to line the chalk up--
in a perfect line, might I add. So funny!

Photobucket

He also took some time out to decorate his car.

After he was finished, his car looked
like it belonged at Cadillac Ranch.

Photobucket

Cute little chalky feet.

Photobucket

Just staring at his perfectly arranged chalk.

Photobucket

Every time I took a piece of his lined up chalk
to color the ground, he would take it out of
my hand and put it back where it belonged.

Noah, you're a funny little guy!

I'm thinking we will have many more
mornings of coloring with chalk.
{Or, ahem, lining chalk up}.

So much fun!

Custom Blog Signature

Today I have an easy tutorial. And guess what!? You don't have to use Photoshop for this one {unless you want to}!

Okay, let's get started.

Click on this link before we move on. You there?

At the very top of the page, there will be a tab that says, Start Now. Click it. You will then click the very first button you see that says, Create Signature. There are several easy steps to follow to create your signature:

1. Enter your Name
2. Choose a font
3. Select the size
4. Choose a color {if you want}
5. Set the slope of your signature

Go ahead and go through each of those steps. I'll wait for ya.

Okay, now you should be at a page where it says at the top, Finished! The signature is ready. There will be three options for you to choose. Click the last one that says, Want to use this signature. Then you want to choose the Generate an HTML code option. Next you will see, Generate a code for my handwritten signature. Click it.

You will now have a code that looks like this:

Photobucket
Copy the code.

Now, let's head on over to blogger so we can put your pretty little signature into your posts.

Photobucket

Click the tab Settings; then click formatting.

Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and you will see Post Template.

Paste the code you created in the box next to Post Template. Click Save Settings. Don't forget that step!

Now you have a pretty new blog signature that will appear each time you write a new post.

Pretty easy, huh?

I need some more tutorial ideas. What would you like to know?

Photobucket

p.s. Promise Noah posts soon!!

"NoNo" Monster

You all know I am addicted to Etsy. I type Etsy in my browser
at least once or twice a day. A few months ago while I was
window shopping, I came across the.cutest.Etsy.shop.ever.

I immediately fell in love with Little Bit Funky. The owner of
the shop makes these adorable little monsters she calls "Hoho's.
As soon as I laid my eyes on them, I knew I had to have one!

Photobucket

Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up not buying one.
Not because of cost or anything like that {they are very reasonable!}, but just
because I wanted to try and make one. I thought it would be fun-- and it was!!

Photobucket

But the main reason I decided to make one instead of buy one is because
I wanted to make Noah one using the fabric from some of his baby clothes.
Now that I know how to make one, I can't wait to get started on his!!

Here is my first attempt:

Photobucket

Isn't he cute!?! I will definitely be making lots
more of these little monsters.
They are so much fun!

A Little Reminder...

I'm sure you've noticed I've been quiet lately about my
weight loss. Reason is, I haven't lost anything...
I've actually gained some of my weight back. Ugh. :(

I could blame many different things on my lack of
motivation, but the truth is, I can only blame myself.

Losing weight is such a frustrating {slow!} thing to do.
Maybe I felt overwhelmed how far I have to go.
Maybe I was busy and didn't make time for it.
Maybe I was just lazy.

But whatever the reason, today is a new day.

Photobucket

So, today I put all of this behind me and start again.
It's time to get busy and lose this weight!

Here's to a new day!

Photobucket

p.s. A new menu is up for the week!!
And, the button is now working! Yay!
I've also made some changes, so please read
the note I wrote underneath the button. Thanks!

Oh, and one more thing. If you would
like to see a few sneak peaks of Abby's
wedding this past weekend, click here.
They are gorgeous! Can't wait to see the rest!!

My very last project in my
Home Ec class is to make a quilt.

I hear it can be quite a difficult task...
have you ever made one before?

Oh, I hope someday I can make something
as beautiful as the ones above.

I'm so excited to learn!
