Guilty Pleasures

Ok. It's confession time.
I bought Girl Scout cookies today. There, I said it.

Photobucket

But. Let me explain.

I had to run into Walgreen's for a deck of cards
{I know, kinda random. I'll tell you why later}.

So anyway, as I was walking in, a sweet little girl approached me
with the sweetest little voice & the sweetest little smile, and said,
"Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?"

Let me just say, I immediately thought,
"No, I shouldn't. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad!"

But then I looked back at the little girl, and
I. gave. in.
I mean seriously, how do you turn
down those sweet little Girl Scouts?

You don't. And I didn't.

I bought a box of my absolute favorite: Caramel delights.
And guess who loves Caramel delights just like his mommy?
You guessed it... Noah!

And I guess the saying holds true: "You can't eat just one!"

P.S. We have a winner! {wink, wink}

Goodnight.

2 Requests, a Praise, & Noah's Sweet Face

Would you mind praying for two people who are near to my heart?

I found out today my grandmother, Gigi {doesn't she have the cutest grandma name?}, is in the hospital. She lives in the frozen tundra, also known as Amarillo, and two days ago fell down the front steps of her house as she was on her way to get the mail. She laid shivering in the snow for about 15 minutes until she could muster up the strength to find her way to bed. Later that evening when she woke up, she got out of bed to use the restroom, and then she could not get back into bed because of the accident. After two days, she decided she should go to the hospital. Amazingly, she had no broken bones -- just some bruising and a pretty banged up, swollen knee. However, they are keeping her in the hospital for a couple of days to closely monitor her kidneys. My heart breaks for my precious Gigi, and I can't imagine the amount of pain she has been in. Would you pray for her? Please pray for rest and strength; pray for answers to the kidney problems and for healing of her pain.

My second prayer request is for my father-in-law, Darrell. Lately he has been having swelling in his legs and numbness all over. Two days ago, he went to the hospital for a nerve test. Basically this test is used to detect signs of nerve damage. He found out he has Neuropathy, which means there is damage to his nerves, and it's been caused by either a disease of the nerve or as a side effect of a specific systemic illness. Wow, I feel like I'm back in nursing school. So they drew a bunch of blood and ran some tests to try to figure out what is causing the Neuropathy. The doctor called and said every single one of the tests came back normal {which seems like a great thing}, but there is still the uncertainty of what is causing the nerve damage. So in effort to get to the bottom of this, the doctor referred Darrell to a neurologist. Apparently the wait for this specific neurologist is several months, because they told him not to expect an appointment before July. Would you please pray for Darrell? Please pray for answers to what is causing his Neuropathy, for peace, for relief of his symptoms, and for an appointment sooner than what he was told.

And I have a praise to share with you! Remember Nanny? She was in the hospital for back surgery, and ended up on the ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit for a night or two. Nanny has been home a little over a week now, and doing well! Praise the Lord for his answer to our prayers!

And as I always say, "What's a post without a picture {especially a picture of sweet little Noah}."

Goodnight!

Watch Out for the Tickle Monster!

The Tickle Monster helped mommy out today.

Photobucket

He got a hold of some very ticklish feet, which made Noah laugh and laugh and laugh.
So thanks to the Tickle Monster, mommy was able to get some really sweet pictures of ticklish little Noah today.

Speaking of the Tickle Monster, I came across his book today, and I think it's one of those books that I must have. Ha. I have not read the actual book yet, but I did read a bunch of reviews on Amazon.com, and apparently it's a favorite among many families. I am a sucker for children's books. I don't know what it is, but I can't get enough of them. I could spend hours upon hours in the children's book section in Barnes & Noble. So, we will be adding this cute little book to our collection, and I wanted to pass it along to you as well {let's hope it really is as good as the reviews say it is!}.

You can buy the book here.

1 Year & 190 Posts Later

I'll never forget the evening I discovered my love for blogging. Josh was in Lubbock working, and my sweet baby Noah {about 6 months old at the time} was sound asleep in his room. The house was quiet, really quiet. But by then, I was used to it being that way in the evenings since Josh was working in Lubbock a couple days a week {am I glad that's over!}. So I sat down at our computer that night, and before I knew it my blog was up and running. I had no idea what I was doing; the blog world was undiscovered territory. I remember wondering if I'd ever figure this blog thing out or if I'd be any good at it. However the more I wrote, the more my blog insecurities began to fade. And here I am today {exactly a year later}, writing my 191st post. Wow! What a great year it has been, and I thank you for being here with me all along, for taking time out of your day to visit our blog, and to share in our lives.

Now I'm starting my second year of blogging, and I am so looking forward to it. But before we move on, I want to do a little celebrating, so I am hosting another giveaway! Because seriously, you deserve it. Plus I love giving away fun stuff.

This giveaway is extra special because it is a handmade item from my fabulous Mom. She is opening up an Etsy store in the next month or two, and she's going to sell a lot of seriously cute, cute stuff. This is her blog & Etsy store header my sweet husband created for her. A.m.a.z.i.n.g!

Photobucket

And for those of you who are Etsy lovers like myself, I'll let you know as soon as she sets up shop. Shall we get on with the giveaway? I think we shall.

Josh was so kind to model for me the other night {but he is going to kill me when he finds out I used this picture!}. I seriously have the cutest husband. Oh, excuse me. Back to the giveaway: an adorable pleated purse perfect for the Spring!

Photobucket

Let's take a closer look at it.

Photobucket

Serious cuteness! I mean, is my mom amazing or what?

Interested? Well, to enter the giveaway it's pretty simple. All you have to do is leave me a comment {in the "comments" below - not on facebook} telling me what your favorite thing about our blog is.

Anyone who reads our blog can enter, and that includes you, guys.
Don't be shy. I know this give away is directed towards the ladies, but
if you win, we will work something out!

The deadline for the giveaway is 10:30 am Friday morning {on February 5th}.
I'm braving it again, and I'm gonna let my little man, Noah, pick
the winning name.

Until then, happy commenting!
